Current – Member of COPE and host of the Annual COPE Garden Party for the last several years.

Lifetime
Actively supported getting our NDP MLA and MP Elected in the last several Provincial and Federal Elections.
Actively worked with Municipal Campaigns to get progressive politicians elected.

Work and Recreation
1982 – 1988 – Founder and Coordinator of a Vancouver Modified Slo-pitch League
1981 – 1999 – Member of VMREU Executive including Chair of Health and Safety Committee and Member of Shop Steward Education Committee
1976 – 1989 – Worked at Vancouver Community College as Receiver and Temporary Building Services Manager while being an active Shop Steward and Union Executive member. Served on various negotiating committees including Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver School Board and Vancouver Community College.1999 – February 2011 – Worked at Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 15 as a Staff Representative servicing many different bargaining groups including Langara College, Emily Carr University, Student Unions at Langara and VCC and Vancouver Art gallery
March 2011 – Present – Preretirement and actively continuing with volunteer activities as they relate to education
September 2011 – Present – Sole Proprietor of Consulting Company “Reviewing Options

Personal Accomplishments in Advocacy
1998 – Secured guaranteed employment for School Support Staff which maintained critical support to classrooms.
2000 – Succeeded in establishing pay equity in VSB which provided respectful living wages for all support staff
2005 – Organized with Inner City Parents to maintain Community LINK funds
2006 – Resolutions passed at BCCPAC calling on retention of School Boards, Safe Products in Schools.
2007 – With the flattening of Community Schools, succeeded in acquiring transition dollars for the Community Schools for two years – this allowed for maintaining programs and the expansion of the Community Schools model to the Family of Schools.
2007 – Worked with BCCPAC to establish a respectful dialogue with members and Education Partners.
2008 – Advocated for full funding of playgrounds resulting in parents across the Province acquiring additional access to money towards playgrounds.
2008 – Challenge the legitimacy of the VSB Facilities Review resulting in a special Task Force being established to assess Education Facilities in Vancouver
2006 and ongoing – Working to establish better communications with PACs in Vancouver through better governance and representation at the DPAC level.
2011 – Succeeded having 46 Vancouver PAC representative votes at BCCPAC 2011 AGM
